SHEEP TICKS
Sheep Ticks (also called Deer Ticks) Ixodes ricinus, occur widely in the British countryside. This year there would appear to be more than normal on vegetation in Brantingham Dale. As a tick bite can sometimes result in an infection called Lyme disease, it is wise to take precautions if you plan to go walking in the Brantingham area eg. you should avoid walking with bare legs through low vegetation. For advice on avoiding a tick bite and what to do if you are bitten see www.nhs.uk/conditions/lyme-disease Additional information can be found here
